Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of creative content for assigned revenue-generating initiatives, brand campaigns, marquee athletics programs, and other department strategic priorities. Assignments may include football, men's basketball, women's basketball, ticketed sports, sponsorship-related campaigns, NIL initiatives, postseason campaigns, and other high-impact brand opportunities as determined by department leadership. This position will hire and manage the creative video student program for BYU Athletics and be responsible for the education and execution of said student employees' creative video work. This position will work primarily with other video content creators and social media strategists for BYU Athletics to ideate and execute unique content while ensuring branding is consistent across all digital platforms. This position will work closely with assigned program administrators, coaches, staff, and internal partners to strategize and execute recruiting, NIL, sponsorship, ticketing, and brand content where applicable. This position will also work on projects as assigned by its supervisor.

What You'd Be Responsible For
1. Revenue & Brand Content Strategy and Production
  • Plan and execute creative content for assigned revenue-generating initiatives, brand campaigns, marquee athletics programs, and associated digital and social media platforms
  • Strategize and execute content for assigned recruiting, NIL, sponsorship, ticketing, and brand campaigns
  • Assist student-athletes, where applicable, in the strategy and execution of NIL content obligations
  • Execute "gameday" responsibilities/assignments
  • Create content that showcases BYU's student-athletes, coaches, and staff's accomplishments, unique backgrounds, and experiences
  • Create additional video content for the athletic department at supervisors' direction
  • Ensure branding is consistent across all Athletic department platforms
  • Assist in the development of a cohesive brand look and content strategy and direct student employees in implementing said branding and strategy
  • Create content for student-athletes to use in building their personal brands on their personal social media platforms

2. Student Employees
  • Lead and develop the creative content student employee program
  • Manage student employees' work while teaching them how to develop their skillsets
  • Hire, train, and lead student employees in the execution of content creation for BYU's various athletic teams
  • Schedule student's assignments and ensure execution of their responsibilities
  • Manage student relationships with assigned coaches, student-athletes and teams

3. General Duties
  • Assist in monitoring the social media and content landscape for potential issues regarding BYU Athletics
  • Engage and build relationships within BYU-specific and national communities
  • Research best-practices to implement at BYU
  • Complete projects under strict time constraints
  • Adhere to strict department confidentiality agreements
  • Analyze campaign and individual content performance metrics
  • Collaborate with co-workers to determine and implement best practices across the Athletic Department digital platforms

What Qualifies You to Apply?
Required:
  • 3 years of related experience in athletics video production, social media (creative content) video production, or a related field.

Preferred:
  • 5 years of related experience in athletics video production, social media (creative content) video production, or a related field.

Skills, abilities or knowledge needed:

  • Willingness to comply with University employment standards
