Job Description:
At Regions, the Intern works on department assignments while learning more about the financial services industry. As an intern, you will experience Regions' values while receiving job skills and training, personal development, and networking opportunities. Regions offers college internship opportunities within various departments.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Receives exposure to all basic functions of assigned group within the financial industry
  • Exposed to a wide range of tasks including research, administrative and correspondence work and attend meetings
  • Provides assistance in projects
  • Gains valuable insight within a variety of functions while strengthening core skills and knowledge needed to launch a successful career
  • Responsibilities will vary by internship

This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

  • A college student who has interest in developing technical skills and gaining work experience
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks
  • Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Regions Marketing Communications (MarComm) Summer Internship Program offers internship opportunities to college students in the following departments: Social Media, Paid Media, Media and Public Relations, Direct Marketing, and Digital Enablement.
  • The Distributed Social Intern will support the team by helping associates across the footprint build a compliant and effective social media presence to drive engagements, extend brand reach, and foster business opportunities. They will contribute to content strategy and creation through social media content curation, planning, and optimization efforts that strengthen associate visibility online.
  • Our Organic Social Media Intern will research social media trends, platform formats, competitor activity, and emerging banking and financial services topics to identify content opportunities for Regions. They will provide recurring content recommendations and channel optimization insights to support enterprise, showcase, and executive social media strategies.
  • Paid Media Intern will support the development and execution of Regions' paid media strategies across multiple marketing channels - i.e., Out-of-Home, TV, Radio, and Digital. Intern will be exposed to audience/market research, campaign planning, and reporting.
  • The Direct Marketing Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting direct marketing campaigns from strategy and planning through execution, analysis, and campaign wrap-up. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to creative and customer engagement initiatives, analyze campaign performance, and present recommendations to help drive results.
  • Media and Public Relations Intern will be immersed in best practices regarding how a large organization provides accurate and timely information to external media sources and the broader public while managing incoming requests for information and proactively securing awareness of bank initiatives in key markets.
  • The Digital Enablement Intern will assist with the creation and optimization of landing page experiences that support marketing campaigns. Responsibilities include conducting website and landing page QA, supporting analytics and tag validation efforts, gathering performance insights, and helping identify opportunities to improve user experience and conversion rates.

Additional Requirements:
  • Expected graduation of December 2027 or May/June 2028
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks during the summer in Birmingham, AL
