Overview/Purpose

We are looking for a creative development lead to drive the continued growth of Teen Vogue. As Manager, Programming & Creative Development, Teen Vogue you will work alongside video and editorial teams to create premium content our social followers will like and share. You will nurture, oversee, and grow a digital video IP portfolio. This role is based in New York and reports to the Director, Programming and Creative Development, Teen Vogue.

The purpose of this role is to build Teen Vogue's digital entertainment portfolio in the form of:

  • Original social content for global digital platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), with focus on premium, scalable quality video

  • Video franchises that transcend platforms and markets

  • Video support of live cultural events (eg, red carpets, Best of Beauty Live etc.)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Organize and lead development brainstorms for new video series and one-offs

  • Pitch video ideas across social and YouTube with the express purpose of filling Teen Vogue's programming calendars

  • Align with brand editorial priorities and KPIs to create 5 social videos weekly

  • Produce and direct shoots for all video platforms, including celebrity and editor-led content

  • Set up, capture, and break down on-set EQ for weekly social video shoots

  • Represent Teen Vogue at events, capturing on-site interviews at red carpets, premieres, pop ups, and more

  • Ability to self-film high-quality video on an iPhone and execute edits in Adobe Premiere

  • Ability to lead studio shoots that include production gear, with general knowledge of Sony cameras

  • Generate ideas for pre-existing series as well as creating new pilots for all digital video platforms including TikTok, Reels, and YouTube

  • Establish visual best practices and look and feel of series and pilots with brand stakeholders

  • Collaborate with editorial team on the development of talent, both internal and external

  • Track video performance and re-evaluate the creative accordingly in conjunction with Audience Development to engage existing fans and appeal to new viewers and advertisers

  • Collaborative cross-functionally on Teen Vogue editorial, events, and tentpole initiatives

  • Assist with Vogue video and social production when necessary

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years experience in the digital media space

  • Interview experience with high-profile talent including experts and celebrity talent

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite and familiarity with creative tools necessary to produce high quality social video content, including experience editing formatted short-form video with graphics in Adobe Premiere

  • General knowledge of video EQ gear, and filming with an iPhone

  • Knowledge of internet culture and digital video landscape (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), including the unique elements of each video platform and what makes particular videos successful on those platforms

  • Proven ability to balance long-term value with near-term business goals, ability to manage heavy workload and prioritize appropriately

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

The expected base salary range for this position is from $84,000-106,000 Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.


In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
