Creative Director

Responsibilities

  • Lead CSMC's marketing and communications function, setting the creative direction while remaining deeply handson in producing highquality materials.
  • Translate complex engineering, nuclear, defence, and space concepts into clear, compelling narratives for government, partners, investors, and the public.
  • Develop and maintain CSMC's visual identity across all channels, ensuring consistency, clarity, and alignment with mission and sovereigncapability messaging.
  • Create technical and nontechnical content including presentations, reports, infographics, animations, web copy, social media content, and branded collateral.
  • Produce graphic design assets using modern tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.) and oversee multimedia development including video, photography, and motion graphics.
  • Support PR and external communications, including press releases, media packages, announcements, and stakeholderfacing materials.
  • Partner closely with engineering, business development, and leadership teams to support proposals, RFPs, regulatory submissions, and strategic communications.
  • Manage CSMC's digital presence, including website content, social media strategy, and targeted campaigns.
  • Ensure all communications comply with security, controlledgoods, and exportcontrol requirements.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to building a highperformance creative and communications capability within CSMC.
  • Operate with a builder mindset - comfortable in ambiguity, proactive in execution, and motivated by missiondriven impact.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, creative direction, or visual design, ideally in technical, scientific, or regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience guiding creative strategy while remaining handson in execution.
  • Strong graphic design skills and proficiency with modern design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience producing multimedia content (presentations, infographics, animations, video scripts, technical visuals).
  • Familiarity with PR, media engagement, and external communications best practices.
  • Ability to work crossfunctionally with engineering, leadership, and external partners in a fastmoving, missiondriven environment.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in defence, aerospace, nuclear, or other technical sectors is an asset but not required.
