SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Drafting Coordinator to join our industry-leading S&P 500 REIT. This role involves managing large-scale design solutions for senior living residential real estate. With over $70 billion in assets across 2,000 properties in three countries, this position will specifically support our US portfolio. This is a field-based role, requiring a home office and occasional travel to properties within the assigned area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Support the Creative Design team through all phases of multiple design projects, with a primary focus on drafting, documentation, coordination, and drawing production.

· Produce and update AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, furniture plans, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, millwork details, demolition plans, and other interior design details under the direction of the Senior Design Manager, Creative.

· Translate design concepts, sketches, redlines, field notes, and markups into accurate, coordinated construction and design drawing packages.

· Maintain established drafting standards, including layers, lineweights, annotations, dimensions, symbols, schedules, sheet organization, and overall graphic consistency.

· Assist with the preparation and coordination of design development, bidding, and construction document packages.

· Incorporate design revisions, consultant coordination comments, and verified field conditions into drawing sets while maintaining accurate revision documentation.

· Assist with field verification and documentation of existing conditions, including measurements, photographs, and site information required for drawing development.

· Coordinate interior design drawings with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, millwork, and other consultant documentation.

· Review architectural and consultant drawings to identify potential conflicts, inconsistencies, or conditions that may impact the interior design intent and escalate them to the Senior Design Manager, Creative.

· Assist with preparing finish plans, furniture plans, elevations, millwork drawings, presentation drawings, specification packages, and supporting design documentation.

· Review shop drawings and submittals for coordination with design drawings and organize items requiring clarification or design direction.

· Maintain organized project drawing files, CAD standards, specifications, schedules, product information, redlines, and revision records.

· Support FF&E documentation, finish selections, material studies, and specification development as needed.

· Attend project meetings, design presentations, progress reviews, frame walks, field walks, installations, punch walks, and final project reviews as required.

· Assist with documenting field conditions, punch-list items, and construction-related changes that require updates to project drawings.

· Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams to obtain information necessary to complete accurate drawing packages.

· Escalate drawing conflicts, design questions, and decisions requiring creative direction to the Senior Design Manager, Creative.

· Stay current with AutoCAD best practices, drafting standards, building codes, accessibility requirements, construction methods, and industry standards relevant to residential and commercial interior design.

· Assist with special drafting, standards-development, and design projects as requested by Creative Design leadership.

TRAVEL

This role will require regular travel (up to 25%) to properties throughout your region as well as travel to our regional offices as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in interior design, Architecture, or a related field.

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in Interior Design or a related field.

· Preferred background in hospitality, multi-family, and commercial design; senior living design experience is not required.

· Proficient in one or more: AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Revit, Microsoft Office, SketchUp, and Design Manager.

· Understanding of Building and ADA codes is preferred.

· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong multitasking, prioritization, and deadline management skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional attitude.

· Active and Unrestricted Motor Vehicle License: moderate travel (including overnight trips and flights) is required.
