Position Highlights
The Creative Lead is the design lead for the Marketing Team supporting the Arizona Student Unions and the Parking & Transportation departments. The Creative Lead is responsible for bringing all marketing projects to life visually by using various creative design methods and mediums. This role will direct and oversee creative design processes and deliverables for the departments, assign project deliverables, and facilitate collaboration between the team as necessary to reach strong, integrated, and engaging creative solutions to achieve desired project outcomes.
A well-qualified applicant will have both design expertise and strong team and project management experience as required to consistently produce high quality deliverables that are completed on time. The incumbent must have excellent organization skills and the ability to manage and direct multiple team members, projects, and priorities. A designer with a good eye for aesthetics and the ability to inspire people to come together to create visual magic. This position requires artistic vision and design skills, but also the management skills to help your team bring concepts and ideas to fruition.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Guide and contribute to the design team's creative process from concept through final execution.
  • Support the development of high-quality creative and design work that aligns with client needs and expectations.
  • Interpret client and brand objectives and help translate them into effective visual design solutions.
  • Review creative work, provide constructive feedback and direction, assist with problem-solving, and support the ongoing growth and development of team members while maintaining high creative standards.
  • Partner with the Associate Director of Marketing to support the hiring, onboarding, and training of staff within the creative department.
  • Help foster a collaborative, creative, and growth-focused team environment.
  • Encourage innovative thinking and support the design team in developing creative solutions that meet client needs.
  • Coordinate and support creative design processes used to develop multimedia marketing materials for the Arizona Student Unions and Parking & Transportation divisions.
  • Coordinate the design team's workflow to help ensure all deliverables meet established production and quality standards across multimedia materials and platforms.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to assist the team in completing marketing projects and meeting established deadlines.
  • Support and coordinate photography and videography efforts related to client projects.
  • Provide creative guidance and contribute directly to the design process on select projects.
  • Create engaging content and materials in both print and digital formats as needed.
  • Maintain consistency with established client brand standards across all creative materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Skill with communication and presentation (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of Digital and print production.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as aligned with current goals and initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of photography and videography.
  • Ability to work in Adobe Suite.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Proven experience with graphic design, with a strong portfolio of work.
  • Experience in graphic design, best practices, principles, tools, and techniques such as layout composition, hierarchy, balance, identity, color theory, and typography.
