Corteva Agriscience is seeking students for full-time internships within our Research and Development organization in Newark, Delaware. Interns will work closely with experienced scientists and technical experts in an industrial R&D setting, with opportunities to build skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and network across the company.
What You'll Do:
  • The candidate will work as part of the Genetic and Molecular Toxicology group in a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)-compliant facility.

  • Learn and support toxicity testing for plant production products (PPPs) under the supervision of a Principal Investigator.

  • The activities/duties will include hands on experience in the fields of in vitro and molecular toxicology; following and reviewing technical documents

  • Develop and evaluate automated machine learning approaches for analysis of high-content imaging datasets generated on the Cellomics CX7 platform.

  • Build automated image-processing workflows for identification, classification, and quantification of cellular endpoints.

  • Compare machine outputs with traditional manual analyses to assess performance, reproducibility, and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with assay scientists to identify opportunities for workflow improvement.

  • Document methods, results, and recommendations, and present findings to project teams at the conclusion of the internship.

  • Intern positions provide excellent experience that can be applied to full time positions in the industry, or in preparation for additional graduate level training in toxicology and human health sciences.

What Skills You Need:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree in computational science, biomedical, life science discipline or a related field

  • Strong interest in both biology and machine learning who is excited to apply automation tools to real-world toxicology challenges and image-based assay development.

  • Organized with attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects

  • Strong technical data and communication skills, curiosity and willingness to interact with stakeholders, problem-solving mindset.

  • Preference will be given to student with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

  • Must be able to relocate to Newark, Delaware for the duration of the internship.

  • Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during the timeframe of May to August.

  • Must be enrolled at an accredited university at the time of internship.
