Zumiez and Product and Brand Services (PBS)
Zumiez is a leading specialty retailer of apparel, footwear, accessories, skateboards, and snowboards for young men and women who want to express their individuality through the fashion, music, art, and culture of action sports, streetwear, and other unique lifestyles. Headquartered in Lynnwood, Washington, Zumiez operates over 700 stores in North America, Europe, and Australia. We operate under Zumiez in North America, Blue Tomato in Europe, and Fast Times in Australia.
The Zumiez Product and Brand Services (PBS) team is responsible for over 30 unique brands spanning various categories, including men's and women's apparel, accessories, and snow/skate hardgoods. These brands are comprised of owned and licensed brands.
Position Purpose
The Graphic Designer leverages their strong graphic design, layout, research, attention to detail, brand knowledge and clear communication skills to support the continued development of our owned brands through helping drive the evolution of brand marketing and brand management tools. As well as providing additional support with Zumiez seasonal trend presentation and customer insight documentation, layout, and materials.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Execute Owned Brand marketing materials against creative direction provided by the Associate Brand Manager, with support in creative direction as needed
  • Support Associate Brand Manager in execution of Seasonal Brand Direction and Brand Management tools
  • Develops and maintains brand resources portal
  • Help lead the execution of the Condensed Trend Shopping Report and Event Recaps
  • Support in the execution of Zumiez Trend Seasonal Presentation content, layout, and materials
  • Help drive the concepting of branding and packaging for owned brands
  • Help grow social media story telling for owned brands
  • Own updating and maintaining customer insights documentation tools through cross-function partnership as needed
  • Implement brand and product knowledge tools and events for store teams
  • Support internal product Graphics Team with product Graphics and technical specification sheets
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, marketing, digital marketing, and internal design and graphic design partners
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and workflows by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness
  • Stay informed about brand and category performance and PBS strategic priorities
  • Continue to build and apply knowledge of PBS Brand DNA and customer trends
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Associate Brand Manager to support evolving business priorities and departmental goals

Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in graphic design, preferably but not necessarily in the apparel industry
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or a combination of equivalent education and relevant work experience
  • Detail oriented with a strong understanding and practical application of typography and layout
  • Ability to format and visualize data clearly into presentation decks
  • Experience building and maintaining deck templates and brand tools to ensure consistency across seasonal initiatives and teams
  • Working knowledge of Brand DNA and the ability to maintain and extend across decks and marketing outputs
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to contribute creative and innovative ideas within a brand, product, and marketing context
  • Maintains a strong awareness and understanding of Zumiez culture, customer, market, and industry trends
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite - Specifically Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
