Job description

We are looking for an energetic Activity Specialist to join our growing team! The right candidate has excellent communication skills and experience in geriatrics, recreation, or social administration

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Resident Engagement Director and residents to plan, coordinate and lead a wide scope of social and recreational activities with the intent of including all residents in some area of activity

  • Plans off-campus trips for residents, and attends many of the trips

  • Assists in arranging transportation to events and programs when necessary, including bus transportation and other vehicle transportation, scheduling community driver or outside resource

  • Creates, posts, and/or distributes information and material regarding events, programs, activities, etc.

  • Assists with purchasing necessary supplies, films, crafts, etc.

  • Alerts social services staff of concerns pertaining to residents

Qualifications

  • CNA certification a plus but not required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic 

  • Must be able to work with others in setting up for events

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. 

  • Must be able to complete small set-ups independently
