West Michigan Academy of Arts & Academics is hiring a Instructional Paraprofessional.
30-35 hours per week at $15 - $18 per hour, pay to be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
West Michigan Academy of Arts & Academics is a TK-8 public school academy chartered by Grand Valley State University. We are located in Spring Lake and our students come from many surrounding districts in Ottawa and Muskegon counties. WMAAA focuses on arts integration and high academic achievement. We have a great team of teachers and staff who have been supporting and educating creative, artistic, academic high achieving students for over 25 years! We are looking for an experienced successful leader to join our team.
Job Summary: Work with students in small groups or one on one for reading and/ or math interventions. Support students in classrooms during lunch and on the playground during recess. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
โ€ข Take instruction from building administrator or classroom teacher
โ€ข Meet with students in small groups or in the hallway to work on instructional areas based on their area of need.
โ€ข Lesson planning will be done with certified teachers
Knowledge, Skill, Ability, & Personality Traits:
โ€ข Establishes positive relationships with school personnel and stakeholders.
โ€ข Ability to communicate well at various levels.
โ€ข Evidence of positive attitude, high level of flexibility, and a strong work ethic. โ€ข Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks. โ€ข Evidence of high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in personal and professional matters. โ€ข Maintain regular attendance, report to work neat and clean and on time, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Qualifications: High School Diploma required (Associates Degree or 60+ hours of college credit preferred). Passing score (460) on ETS Para Pro Assessment preferred. Prior experience working with students or children preferred. Must be able to pass a criminal justice fingerprint/background check.
