The Catering & Event Logistics Specialist Seasonal teammemberswillassistthe Director of Culinary Planning & Catering with the successful planning and execution of catered meetings,eventsand conferences for Answers in Genesis at the Ark Encounter, CreationMuseumand the AiG Headquarters building. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic,energeticand passionate about serving others. This position will allow one toimpactothers through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. The Catering Seasonal role provides opportunities for spiritual,personalandprofessional developmentwhile tackling challenges and having fun along the way.

This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion. Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
  • Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
  • Approach all tasks with a second mile mindset.
  • Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
  • Deliver exceptional catering and hospitality to all event guests, day guests,VIPsand staff of Answers in Genesis, the ArkEncounterand the Creation Museum.
  • Set up catering spaces and serving stations with linens, food,beveragesand supplies needed for the events of the day. Install andmaintainfood & beverage signage.
  • Prepare and cook foodin accordance withmenu and recipe standards.
  • Prepare,storeand serve food quickly and safelyin accordance withNKY Health Department Standards and National Serve Safe Program.
  • Give utmost attention to foodpresentationto ensure a high-quality guest experience whilemaintainingsafety and hygienic operationsofthe cooking and serving areas.
  • Serve,rotateand replenish buffet menu items, appetizers and dessert tables and beverage stations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of food and beverage service areas, serving utensils and equipment.
  • Clean and reset tables,chairsand floors throughouteventdining area.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas at the end of each event, leaving kitchen supplies in clean working order.
  • Maintain and service the Answers Center GreenRoomkitchen food and beverage offerings.
  • Plan and carry out the rotation of date sensitive inventory and regular cleaning schedules.
  • Assistwhen requested in the operations ofCulinaryServices department during non-event times.
  • And all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
  • Mission focused and process driven.
  • Must alwaysdemonstratea servant attitude and a humble spirit.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule across a 7-day week at either the Answers Center or the Creation Museum; ableto work mornings, evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Able to work with performer personalities and demands.
  • Customer service-oriented and committed tohigh levelsof guest satisfaction.
  • Good problem-solving skills, organizationalskillsand decision-making ability.
  • Able to estimate and meet realistic deadlines, perform underpressureand react quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail with eyes on food standards and the ability toanticipateguest needs.
  • Must be able to stand and move about the kitchen, storageroomsand/or meeting rooms for the entire length of shift.
  • Must be able to bend and list 25-75 pounds.

Education & Experience

  • Knowledge of principles of food preparation and presentation.
  • Any combination of education or job-related experience thatprovidesthe required knowledge& abilitiesto perform the required tasks.
