Employment Status: Employment is full-time Year-Round
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, Days and hours are subject to change, based on the business needs.
About the Role:
The Fabrication Craftsman is involved in automation and mechanization projects integrating cutting edge equipment from all over the world into the daily operations of our nurseries as well as designing, manufacturing or even rebuilding old equipment to meet each nurseries needs.
What Youโ€™ll Do...
Youโ€™ll be involved in various duties on the Fabrication Team that may include:
  • Develop and lead innovative process improvements.
  • Provide metal fabrication and design.
  • Promote strong relationships with vendors, industry groups and community to promote the Monrovia brand and to establish a strong industry network.
  • Ensure a safe working environment in all aspects of our operations.
  • Lead by example the implementation of MNQ Lean Six Sigma.
  • Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the company as assigned.
Who You Are
Youโ€ฆ
  • Basic knowledge of power transmission: v-belts, chains, and gearboxes.
  • Must have good math skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Open to feedback.
  • Punctual and highly organized.
  • Must have the flexibility to work in a team environment supporting fellow craftsmen and coaches.
  • Are open to working in an area with moderate noise levels that may be wet and humid with odors or airborne particles.
  • Can work in inclement weather conditions, i.e. hot, cold, and rainy.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams preferred
  • Can lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly or 50+ pounds on occasion.
  • Have full range of mobility in your upper and lower body, can reach overhead and work in various positions including stooping, standing walking, bending over, and squatting; can lift, pull and push materials, use hands and fingers to feel, handle plants or operate objects, tools or controls; are able to use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus, all with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Have metal fabrication and design skills.
  • A Welding certification preferred.
  • Machining experience preferred.
  • CNC programing experience preferred.
  • PLC Programing/wiring experience preferred.
