Position Overview
As a Warehouse Repair Technician you will serve as the guardian of our inventory, utilizing technical expertise to inspect, repair, and refurbish furniture and accessories. This position requires a blend of artistic creativity and technical precision, as you will be responsible for returning damaged items to showroom condition through cosmetic touch-ups, minor structural repairs, and surface restoration. You will play a critical role in ensuring every piece that leaves our warehouse meets Vesta Home's impeccable standards.
Key Responsibilities
Restoration & Craftsmanship
  • Repair scratches, chips, dents, scuffs, and finish imperfections on wood, laminate, veneer, metal, and painted furniture.
  • Perform sanding, filling, staining, painting, and color matching to restore furniture to showroom standards.
  • Replace or repair minor hardware (legs, handles, brackets, fasteners, etc.).
  • Perform minor structural repairs (tightening joints, reinforcing loose components, replacing damaged hardware).
Quality Control & Maintenance
  • Inspect returned furniture and determine repairability before returning items to inventory.
  • Conduct rigorous inspections of furniture for imperfections, damages, or wear. Ensure every piece meets Vesta Home's luxury quality standards before it is approved for staging or delivery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and ensure items are scanned into the appropriate repair locations.
Operations & Collaboration
  • Safely operate workshop tools and machinery, including sanders, saws, and spray equipment, while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and customer service teams to prioritize urgent repair requests.
  • Prioritize repairs based on operational needs and project deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair workspace.
  • Assist with furniture assembly/disassembly when required.
  • Support warehouse operations as needed while maintaining repair productivity.

Compensation

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in furniture repair, woodworking, cabinetry, finish carpentry, painting, or furniture refinishing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cosmetic and minor structural furniture repair techniques, including sanding, filling, staining, painting, and color matching.
  • Experience using hand and power tools required for furniture repair work.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; advanced technical training or certification in furniture restoration is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for design aesthetics to match Vesta Home's luxury standards.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including frequent standing, bending, and using hands for detailed work. Must be capable of lifting and maneuvering furniture items up to 50 lbs. (Items that weigh 50 lbs. or more require the assistance of another person).
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with exposure to machinery, finishing chemicals, and cleaning materials, adhering to all safety precautions.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple repair priorities in a fast-paced environment.
