Responsibilities: 

  • Install and assemble structural components according to drawings, specifications, and supervisor direction.
  • Follow jobsite safety standards and maintain quality workmanship.
  • Lead or assist apprentices on smaller projects as assigned.
  • Load, unload, stage, and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized jobsite and assist with department vehicle upkeep.

Requirements: 

  • 2+ years of commercial or industrial installation experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude with common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use basic math and geometry.
  • Welding, fabrication, and torch cutting experience.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Equipment experience: 

  • Aerial lift and forklift operation.
  • Truck and equipment operation, including material loading and unloading.
  • Telehandler, overhead crane, and mobile crane experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to climb and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and near loud equipment.
  • Must be able to position oneself to work in areas such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly or occasionally.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective hazard communications.
  • Must be able to move safely over uneven, irregular, or steep terrain.
  • Must be able to work in hot, cold, indoor, and outdoor jobsite conditions.
