Job description

CDL Driver

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking a CDL Driver with a current driver's license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law. Will be responsible for operating equipment as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations as mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • A. Operate equipment based on the requirements of the project
  • B. Follow prescribed safety regulations  
  • C. Ensure that all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area
  • D. Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning  
  • E. Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction  
  • F. Follow work plans and pre-task cards  
  • G. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels  
  • H. All other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Related construction experience preferred 
  • Current driver's license of proper classification and necessary endorsements as required by law 
  • Strong teamwork orientation 
  • Positive attitude and professional customer service skills 
  • Detail orientation 
  • Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals, and maneuver steering wheel to operate equipment 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts 
  • Knowledge of equipment and their uses 
  • Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication) 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback 
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements 
  • *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
