Familiarity with polysomnography equipment, sleep study software, and biomedical monitoring devices is essential. What is a CPSGT job?

A CPSGT (Certified Polysomnographic Technician) is a healthcare professional who assists in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders. They work under the supervision of a registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT) or physician, conducting sleep studies, monitoring patients, and collecting data on sleep patterns. CPSGTs help identify conditions like sleep apnea, insomnia, and narcolepsy by using specialized sleep monitoring equipment. This certification is an entry-level credential for professionals looking to advance in the field of sleep technology.

What are typical daily responsibilities for a CPSGT?

As a CPSGT, your daily responsibilities include preparing and calibrating sleep study equipment, monitoring patients overnight, accurately scoring sleep data, and clearly documenting results.
