Description
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Part-Time CPR/BLS/AED Instructor plays a vital role in delivering life-saving training to employees of various organizations. Instructors lead hands-on workshops focused on CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) procedures. Upon successful completion of each session, participants receive official certification.
Training is delivered at multiple client locations and tailored to meet specific business needs. Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) coordinates all scheduling and instructor assignments for these workshops, which may vary in location and audience.
This role offers a flexible teaching schedule and a chance to make a direct impact on workplace health and safety across New Jersey.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver CPR, AED, and First Aid courses by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
  • Prepare and maintain a safe, professional, and interactive learning environment.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and appropriately stocked for each class
  • Evaluate student performance through hands-on assessments and written tests.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and certification records.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and program coordinators.
  • Participate in periodic instructor trainings and curriculum updates.
  • Travel to off-site training locations as needed (e.g., employer sites, community centers).

Minimum Qualifications
Education Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Current CPR instructor certification (AHA, Red Cross, or equivalent) required
  • Additional health or emergency training certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS) preferred

Experience Required:
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching or facilitating CPR courses.
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare, emergency response, or education setting is preferred.

Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements:
  • Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply.
