Description
The Invensys Branch of the Hockomock Area YMCA is hiring Swim Instructors. Aquatics Instructors are responsible for teaching swimming in accordance with the YMCA swim lesson guidelines and the philosophies and policies of the Hockomock Area YCMA.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to tread water and swim a minimum of 100 yards
  • Basic knowledge of all competitive strokes
  • Work with, interact and engage with a diverse age range and population
  • Attend all instructor in-services as required
  • Arrive in a timely manner and complete all paperwork by given deadlines
  • Be prepared with all necessary supplies to ensure class starts on time
  • Communicate with parents, as needed

Requirements
  • In progress of completion of High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • YMCA Swim Instructor certification or Water Safety Instructor (WSI), preferred
  • Must be eligible for certification (16 yrs old) within 6 months of date of hire
  • CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen required within the first 30 days
