Position Summary
Performs duties necessary to provide care for injured athletes; provides preventive therapeutic services; coordinates physical examinations; maintains appropriate patient records; manages training room
Primary Duties Performed
  • Provides care for injured athletes: provides emergency care; provides timely evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services, under a physician's standing orders, to ensure maximum safety and timely recovery; attends varsity contests at home and away.
  • Provides preventive therapeutic services: develops programs to reduce the frequency and extent of injuries; develops off season conditioning programs for athletes and coaches to provide maximum individual development.
  • Coordinates physical examinations of varsity athletes according to established requirements for participation.
  • Maintains appropriate patient records: maintains patient files, treatment records, physical exams, insurance data, waivers, injury reports.
  • Manages training room: develops operating procedures, organizes equipment and supplies, recommends purchases.
  • Manages use of exercise and rehabilitative equipment, drives van. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Certification by National Athletic Trainers Association
  • Registration by the Missouri Athletic Trainers Advisory Committee
  • First Aid Instructor's Certificate
