Job Summary: This role supports clinical learners and healthcare teams by advocating for and managing professional development programs and curricula. The Education Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering nursing competence and growth across various care settings through strategic planning and support based on needs assessments, regulatory requirements, quality data, and leadership guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Onboarding & Orientation: Develops, coordinates, and evaluates orientation programs for nursing and healthcare staff.
  • Competency Management: Assesses and supports staff competency, addressing any gaps to ensure high-quality care.
  • Educational Initiatives: Designs, implements, and evaluates educational programs to close practice gaps and enhance professional development.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Serves as a liaison and educator, fostering collaboration within and beyond the organization.
  • Inquiry & Improvement: Engages in research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement projects to enhance healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Role Development: Applies strategies for continuous professional growth using established nursing development models and standards.
Scope and Standards of Practice: Includes assessment, diagnosis of practice gaps, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure effective educational interventions.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred or must be obtained within three years.
  • Preferred experience in Nursing Professional Development; alternatively, 3-5 years nursing experience in acute care or healthcare settings.
  • Current nursing licensure required; certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred or to be obtained within two years.
  • Instructor status for programs such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and CPI is required or to be maintained.

Work Shift: First shift, full-time, approximately 36 hours per week.
This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
