Cpg Design information

What is CPG design?

CPG design refers to the creation and development of packaging and branding for Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), which are products sold quickly and at relatively low cost, such as food, beverages, and household items. CPG designers focus on making products visually appealing, functional, and compliant with regulations while aligning with brand identity. Their work involves graphic design, product packaging, and sometimes structural design to enhance shelf presence and consumer engagement.

How does a CPG Design professional typically collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing and product development?

CPG Design professionals frequently work alongside marketing, product development, and sales teams to ensure that packaging and product visuals align with brand strategy and market needs. This collaboration often involves brainstorming sessions, feedback loops, and joint meetings to integrate consumer insights and technical requirements into design concepts. Effective communication and adaptability are essential, as projects may shift based on market trends or retailer feedback. This collaborative environment helps designers create compelling, functional packaging that stands out on shelves and supports overall business goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CPG Design professional?

To thrive as a CPG Designer, you need expertise in graphic design, packaging development, brand strategy, and a relevant degree in design or a related field. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling software, and familiarity with packaging production processes are typically required. Creativity, collaboration, and an understanding of consumer behavior are key soft skills that set standout designers apart. These skills ensure the creation of visually compelling, functional, and marketable packaging that successfully appeals to consumers and supports brand objectives.

Packaging Designer specializes in the visual aspects of packaging across industries, often working on specific packaging formats. Cpg Design professionals typically have a broader role in brand strategy, whereas Packaging Designers focus more on the aesthetic and functional aspects of packaging.

How do you become a Cpg Design?

To become a CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) Designer, individuals typically pursue a degree in graphic design, industrial design, or a related field, and develop skills in packaging, branding, and product visualization. Gaining experience through internships or entry-level roles in packaging design and proficiency with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite are also important steps.

Job description

Why this role is on the menu

Eversight, part of Instacart, is building next-generation data insights and analytics platforms that help leading CPGs & Retailers make smarter, faster decisions across pricing, promotions, retail media, and omni-commerce. We're hiring a Senior Revenue Operations Manager to build and run end-to-end revenue operations across our Commercial organization (Sales and Customer Success), spanning both CPG and Retail. This is a build-and-own role, not a request-response one: you'll identify what the business needs before it's escalated to you, bring a recommendation, and drive it to completion. You'll report directly to the Director of Sales Capabilities & Strategy, with broad latitude to design process, own reporting, and act as a trusted partner to commercial leadership across Eversight Sales, Customer Success, and Product, along with cross functional partners like Strategic Finance, Commercial Partnerships and Brand Partnerships.

What you'll cook up in your first year
  • Standardized reporting and forecasting models live across CPG and Retail, giving commercial leadership one clear view of pipeline, renewals, and customer health
  • Dashboards built and adopted across Sales and Customer Success that leadership actually uses to make decisions, tracking pipeline, renewal rate, expansion, and churn risk
  • Operational gaps identified and fixed before anyone had to ask, each tied to a measurable improvement in forecast accuracy, data integrity, or process efficiency
  • AI tools, agents, and workflow automations built and shipped that eliminate recurring reporting and data cleanup work, cutting manual operational overhead across the commercial org
  • Trusted operational relationships built across every team you touch, with clean handoffs and no surprises
  • Process documentation and standardized frameworks built as you go, not bolted on after the fact
The secret ingredients we're looking forMust-have pantry staples (Minimum Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, or a similar function within a SaaS company; experience in CPG, Retail, or trade promotion/pricing analytics highly preferred
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets to deliver actionable insight
  • Fluent in using AI tools, agents, and workflow automations to eliminate manual reporting and data cleanup, as a core part of how you operate rather than an occasional add-on
  • Experience with SQL and Tableau
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings to leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to identify challenges, prioritize solutions, and execute improvements independently
  • Adept at working cross-functionally with a focus on aligning multiple stakeholders toward shared goals
  • A self-starter able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
Optional garnishes (Preferred Qualifications)
  • MBA
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and Planhat (or comparable CS platform)
  • Understanding of the CPG trade promotion, pricing, and revenue growth management landscape
  • Understanding of the Retail Merchandising landscape
