This position is located at the West Point Club.

Duties
Help
  • Responsible for the management, supervision and service of all meetings, banquets, and catered functions in conjunction with the goals and tasks set forth for the Catering Department.
  • Directs and supervises catering staff in service standards and policies. Ensures security, maintenance and inventory of all catering and meeting equipment.
  • Handles banquet charges at the conclusion of catered functions for prompt and accurate accounting of all Catering department revenue and expenses. Ensures security, maintenance and inventory of all catering and meeting equipment.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales programs for catering within MWR facilities, ensuring alignment with sales objectives and the implementation of effective marketing and promotional plans.
  • Represent catering and build strong relationships with key clients, including military and civilian personnel.

Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
  1. One (1) year of specialized work experience performing duties in catering functions.
  2. Progressively responsible experience in catering to include overseeing catering crews as they plan, prepare and serve buffets at wedding receptions, charity events, holiday brunches and office functions; assist in the preparation and serving of food and manage the day-to-day business details associated with the running of a catering program etc.
  3. Supervisory experience is required.
  4. Must be well-organized and be attentive to detail.
  5. Must possess ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
1. Prior experience in catering sales, event management or hospitality management.
The experience must be reflected on your resume at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate.
Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection.
