Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join firm. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis to support our organization's financial health and growth. As a CPA, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and providing strategic insights that drive informed decision-making. Your energetic approach and commitment to excellence will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering transparent and reliable financial services.

Duties:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct detailed account reconciliations including general ledger, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers such as accounts payable and receivable.

  • Manage complex corporate accounting functions, including journal entries, accruals, and double entry bookkeeping to ensure accuracy across all financial records.

  • Oversee regulatory reporting processes, ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), securities law, and governmental accounting standards.

  • Utilize advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for efficient financial management and reporting.

  • Perform financial analysis including cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning initiatives.

  • Lead or assist with audits by preparing documentation, supporting schedules, and liaising with external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.

  • Support non-profit accounting practices such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) compliance and related financial reporting.

  • Mentor junior team members in technical accounting concepts like GAAP, fiscal concepts, and regulatory requirements to foster professional growth within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required with proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance roles.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance standards, securities law, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting principles.

  • Extensive experience with financial report writing and interpretation along with proficiency in financial statement preparation.

  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or equivalent systems; familiarity with LIHTC programs is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation processes, accounts payable/receivable management, and bank reconciliation procedures.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately for decision-making purposes.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Effective mentoring abilities combined with excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and support continuous improvement efforts.
