Job description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Accountant in either of our locations in Wethersfield CT and Wallingford CT. In this role, you'll collaborate with our team, begin to mentor Staff Accountants, be responsible for managing client engagements, and review complex tax/financial deliverables before partner approval.

1. Technical Proficiency

  • Audit & Assurance: Ability to organize, plan, and control financial audits while assessing risk.
  • Advanced GAAP/Tax Knowledge: Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant local tax codes.

2. Leadership & Mentorship

  • Review & Delegation: Capacity to review staff's work for accuracy and compliance while identifying coaching opportunities.
  • Project Management: Skill in planning engagement tasks and timelines to ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.

3. Client & Communication Skills

  • Relationship Building: Moving beyond number-crunching to actively advise clients, answer questions, and build long-term trust.
  • Complex Explanations: The ability to translate complex financial or tax data into clear, actionable advice for non-financial executives.
