Cox Business (CB) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Director. The Sales Director will lead a team of Sales Managers responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding our customer base nationwide. They will develop and implement effective sales strategies to optimize revenue opportunities from both existing CB customers and new prospects, focusing on our comprehensive suite of network solutions and managed services. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential functions of the role include leadership, planning, communication, administration, and self-development.
  • Sales Performance & Targets:
    • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets (quotas).
    • Lead sales leaders and frontline teams in pursuit of defined sales targets.
    • Forecast sales accurately to ensure targets are met and to inform strategic planning.
    • Monitor and analyze sales performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Team Development & Coaching:
    • On-board new sales representatives and steward them to achieve their targets.
    • Train and develop newly tenured and existing sellers, providing ongoing coaching to ensure continuous improvement, high performance, and quota achievement.
    • Develop and implement coaching programs to enhance the skills and performance of the team.
    • Actively attract, recruit, manage, and develop sales talent to build a high-performing sales team.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
    • Serves as a subject matter expert or advisor on selected customer sales and handles issues escalated by team members.
    • Attends job-related training and informally remains current on technical information regarding Cox's telephony, data, video products and managed cloud offerings, and sales through completion of required/recommended training program.
    • Creates and participates in opportunities to serve as a public representative and image builder of Cox in the local community to network, develop, and maintain Cox's presence, e.g., promotes and/or attends non-profit events, serves as a member of the Chamber of Commerce and other local councils.
  • Collaboration & Strategy:
    • Actively engage sales partners in optimizing the sales funnel and driving revenue growth.
    • Generate creative ideas and form partnerships to drive business growth and enhance sales performance.
    • Provide feedback to management regarding products, services, processes, and procedures to drive continuous improvement.
    • Develops account forecasts and manages the sales team to achieve maximum revenue while maintaining profitability.
    • Communicates customer concerns, sales opportunities, implementations, and related issues within the sales team, across the local system, and across systems. Recommends and coordinates implementation of solutions with various Cox organizations.
    • Work closely with Cox-owned RapidScale to ensure the market outperforms company goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with the marketing department to develop and implement sales strategies that enhance Cox Business and RapidScale's reputation, brand, and sales within the market.
    • Leads sales team meetings to coordinate sales efforts and communicate changes in direction, products, policies, expectations, processes, and standards.
    • Works with the Director of Inside Sales to ensure customer leads received from their direct reports are passed to outside sales representatives as appropriate.
    • Coordinates and maintains effective working relationships with other Cox Business and Cox Communications departments to ensure high-quality customer service.

MINIMUM
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years' sales experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination such as a Master's degree and 8 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years of experience; or 14 years of experience with no formal degree
  • 5+ years' experience in sales management
  • 5+ years' experience in business-to-business consultative sales
  • Experience using Windows-based PCs, Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, reliable transportation
  • Excellent skills in building relationships, building the sales team, business sales skills, champions adaptability, coaching and development, oral communication, demonstrates business acumen, business advisory skills, business sales skills, continuous learning, making sales operations decisions, PC skills, and promotes accountability to work effectively with teams throughout the organization.

PREFERRED
  • 3 years' experience in cloud or managed services sales
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry desired
  • Knowledge of the local market

USD 132,800.00 - 199,200.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $132,800.00 - $199,200.00. The salary rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience. In addition to the salary range identified herein, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive/commission target of $64,152.00.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
