Position Overview

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Florida team, focusing on general litigation and premise liability. This role presents an excellent opportunity for attorneys seeking meaningful responsibility, hands-on experience, and long-term career growth within a dynamic and expanding practice. Attorneys in this role will manage a diverse and challenging caseload, with early responsibility and the opportunity to work across state and federal courts while receiving strong mentorship and professional development support.

Key Responsibilities

Represent clients in general and premise liability matters in Florida, and federal courts.
Manage cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediationsย &ย settlement negotiations.
Develop litigation strategies and provide legal analysis on complex matters.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient case management and high-quality client service.
Maintain strong client relationships and communicate case developments effectively.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Florida State Bar and in good standing.
3+ years of experience in general litigation and tort defense.
Experience handling matters in Florida, and/or federal courts.
Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and client service orientation.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. We value work-life balance and offer hybrid work arrangements, allowing you to work from both the office and remotely.
