A confidential California-based litigation practice is seeking an Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate Attorney to support a busy, expanding coverage practice. This role is well suited to an attorney who enjoys policy analysis, strategic motion practice, and clear client counseling, with the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of matters and collaborate closely with experienced litigators.

THE ROLE
• Analyze and interpret insurance policies and key coverage issues
• Draft persuasive motions, briefs, pleadings, and other coverage-related litigation filings
• Manage discovery tasks, including document review and privilege analysis
• Support case strategy through legal research and fact development
• Participate in depositions, mediations, and court appearances as needed
• Communicate with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional, solutions-oriented manner
LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
Location:
California (Southern California hybrid) or remote within the United States
Schedule:
Hybrid (in office 1 day per week) or remote, depending on location and experience
Compensation:
Base salary: up to $200,000 (depending on experience)
REQUIREMENTS
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active California bar membership in good standing
• 3 to 10 years of insurance coverage litigation experience
• Defense-side litigation background
• Strong legal writing and client-facing advisory skills
• Ability to meet a 1,950 hour annual billable target
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
• Experience preparing coverage position materials and advising clients on complex coverage questions
• Comfort handling matters with a high level of organization and independent follow-through
