Weare looking for an instructional systems designer to be part of the Northrop Grumman's Learning and Communications Solutions (LCS) team. LCS consists of a diverse team of instructional designers, educational psychologists, software engineers, multimedia developers, user experience (UX) designers, artists, writers, and creative professionals. The team works on a variety of projects, creating innovative design solutions for training and information projects in digital media, including immersive environments.

This position may be worked from Albuquerque, NM; McLean, VA; Walpole, MA; Orlando, FL; Beavercreek, OH; or Manhattan Beach, CA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing training materials and curricula to support program implementation across targeted audiences.
  • Developing instructional materials and products, such as web-based training, self-paced guides, case studies, job aids, and evaluations; scenario-based storyboards; and concepts for technology-based courses delivered through online, mobile, and immersive platforms.
  • Creating and analyzing assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities, including pre-tests, post-tests, and quizzes.
  • Demonstrating effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.
  • Working with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Education, Instructional Systems Design, Training & Development, or other relevant degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing e-learning (e.g. computer-based, web-based training, online learning) that is delivered through digital media, including LMS, web, video, or mobile devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Communication, Instructional Systems Design, or Training & Development
  • Minimum of 2 years of experienceon the creative application of the ADDIE model
  • Utilize current ISD Learning Theory to solve complex learning and performance problems
  • Experience developing instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, and related materials.
  • Experience developing and delivering instructor-led training
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $28.00 - $45.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
