Job description

Warehouse / Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: $25 / hour

Hours: Monday - Friday; 7AM - 4:00PM

6 Month Contract to Hire

Job Description

This individual will support the Facilities department by overseeing shipping and receiving operations while assisting with inventory management and general facility maintenance. The role is responsible for ensuring materials are accurately received, processed, stored, and shipped while maintaining inventory levels that support uninterrupted operations. This position also provides cross-functional support to the facilities team by assisting with basic building maintenance and ensuring a safe, organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments by verifying quantities, documentation, and product information.
  • Prepare and ship domestic and international packages through carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and LTL freight, including completing shipping documentation, bills of lading, air waybills, and ACE filings.
  • Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to transport materials throughout the facility.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor consumable supplies to prevent production shortages.
  • Manage receiving documentation, maintain chemical inventories, verify Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and ensure proper labeling of incoming materials.
  • Coordinate with employees, vendors, and contractors regarding deliveries, material requests, and shipping schedules.
  • Perform daily inspections and maintain accurate records using the facility maintenance management system.
  • Support mail, courier, and other shipping and receiving functions as needed.
  • Assist Facilities Technicians with basic maintenance activities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, office furniture installation, and other building-related projects. Training will be provided.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, complete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for non-routine work, and ensure compliance with environmental and workplace safety standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MUST PASS BACKGROUND AND DRUG SCREEN
  • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED REQUIRED
  • Experience with both domestic and international shipping and receiving.
  • Forklift experience (sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts preferred).
  • Experience with SAP, JDE, or similar inventory management systems.
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Mechanically inclined with an interest in learning building maintenance.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees across multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.
