Job description

Weekend Courier

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and punctual Courier/Driver who is available to work weekends 9am – 4pm (Saturday/Sunday). The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task when necessary, and be determined to maintain sample integrity between client facilities and the laboratory. Our Courier Drivers are responsible for picking up analytical samples from client facilities, delivering them safely to our laboratory, and assist in maintaining company vehicles (general maintenance amp; safety).

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Represent Food Microbiological Laboratories through the utmost professional demeanor

· Inspect company vehicle daily, prior to departure, for basic safety concerns or maintenance requirements

· Practice safe driving during route and perform daily pickups as expediently as possible to enhance labor efficiency

· Keep accurate records per the quality system’s requirements

· Ensure proper handling, labeling, and temperature control of samples during transport

· Maintain sample integrity; prevent temperature abuse and cross-contamination

· Maintain chain of custody and other documentation as needed

· Highly adaptable and the desire to be a productive team member

· Occasional flexibility in scheduling to fit the volume of daily pickups (weekends)

· Physical effort usually requires walking and standing with lifting and carrying (up to 30 lbs)

· Ability to utilize electronic table/phone as needed

· Keep delivery vehicle clean and well-maintained

· Perform other related tasks as needed

Minimum Requirements

· High school diploma or GED

· Valid Drivers License

· Exemplary driving record (no negative marks)

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous courier experience

· Proficiency with Google sheets

· Proficiency with phones/tablets
