The major work responsibilities may include: driving and operating a 2-ton and tandem axle dump truck with a GVW rating of 26,001 pounds or greater; servicing and performing basic preventive maintenance checks on trucks and related automotive equipment; performing manual work as required; maintaining records of fuel and material usage and maintenance work performed on equipment; and operating a 1-ton and a 2 ton pick up truck and other equipment such as a backhoe, sheeps foot roller, smooth drum roller and tractor. Work is performed under the general supervision of a District Maintenance Superintendent who gives assignments to the employee and frequently inspects the work. However, employees ordinarily determine work methods and work without immediate supervision.\r\n
