Job description

The Food & Beverage Manager oversees daily operations across the Club's dining venues, Beach Club, and Golf Club, providing hands-on leadership to ensure exceptional member and guest experiences.This position works collaboratively with culinary, service, catering, and other departments to maintain high standards of service and quality. The Manager proactively addresses operational needs, supports effective labor and beverage cost management, and ensures that daily sales, gratuities, consumption, and nightly reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner.As a visible leader and ambassador of the Club, the Food & Beverage Manager leads by example, promotes teamwork and professionalism, and ensures that every member and guest receives prompt, attentive, personalized, and courteous service.Work schedule may include occasional nights and weekends based on scheduled events or club necessity.DUTIES AND FUNCTIONSOperations & LeadershipOversee daily dining room operations, including service flow, member seating, and the overall member and guest experience.Communicate regularly with fellow Food & Beverage Managers regarding operations, staffing, events, and other matters affecting the Golf Club, Beach Club, and catering functions.Assist with the supervision, coaching, training, and development of service team members as needed.Participate in departmental and interdepartmental meetings, shift line-ups, training sessions, and incentive programs.Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with members, guests, coworkers, and management.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.Open and/or close the Beach Club or Golf Club as assigned.Financial & Beverage ControlsAssist with monitoring and controlling labor, beverage, and other departmental costs.Ensure daily sales, gratuities, consumption records, and nightly reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner.Ensure event bars are properly requisitioned and that accurate beverage consumption reports are completed following each event.Follow all Club policies and procedures related to alcoholic beverage service, purchases, transfers, and responsible alcohol consumption.Event & Facility OperationsProactively ensure banquet rooms and event spaces are properly set and ready for upcoming events.Ensure beverage coolers, banquet storage areas, and other service areas remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and immediately report any unsafe conditions.Member & Guest ExperienceGreet and seat members and guests while following proper member identification and seating procedures.Provide prompt, professional, and personalized service while maintaining positive and respectful interactions with members, guests, and team members.Assess and anticipate member and guest needs and take appropriate action to ensure satisfaction.Maintain strong knowledge of Club events, dining offerings, products, services, and amenities in order to effectively communicate and promote the Club experience.Demonstrate knowledge of menu items and confidently answer questions regarding food and beverage offerings.Use proper telephone etiquette, including effectively managing calls, taking complete messages, following reservation procedures, and appropriately directing inquiries.Professional StandardsConsistently uphold the Club's service standards and "Non-Negotiables."Approach all interactions with members and team members in a courteous, professional, and solutions-oriented manner.Display confidence, enthusiasm, attentiveness, and a welcoming demeanor in all member and guest interactions.Maintain a professional appearance and consistently adhere to the Club's uniform and grooming standards.The above description reflects on the general details considered to describe the principal functions of the job.
