Banquet ServerPosition Description

POSITION SUMMARY


The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering polished, efficient, and professional food and beverage service during club events, private functions, weddings, tournaments, and member programs. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to execute service standards in a fast‑paced, event‑focused environment while maintaining the warm hospitality expected at Bear Creek Country Club.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide courteous, professional, and attentive service to Members and guests during banquets, private events, and club functions
  • Assist with event set‑up and breakdown, including tables, chairs, linens, service stations, and décor as directed
  • Serve plated meals, buffets, passed appetizers, and beverages according to event specifications and service timelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional event space throughout service
  • Follow event‑specific service standards, timelines, and instructions provided by Banquet or Event leadership
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and event teams to ensure seamless service execution
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests or concerns during events
  • Adhere to all sanitation, safety, and alcohol service policies, including responsible alcohol service and age verification
  • Utilize point‑of‑sale systems or event charge procedures as required
  • Support fellow team members to ensure smooth, efficient service during high‑volume events
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support successful event execution

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


  • Prior banquet, catering, or restaurant service experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to follow detailed event instructions and timelines
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast‑paced, event‑driven environment
  • Private club or event venue experience preferred but not required


LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS


  • Alcohol service certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Food safety certification preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS


  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move trays, tables, chairs, and equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and work on feet throughout event shifts
  • Work performed in banquet rooms, outdoor event spaces, and other club venues
