Travis Pointe Country Club, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, is hiring for a Head Tennis/Pickleball Professional. Built in 1977, Travis Pointe is one of the state's elite private clubs, featuring four season amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, 4 indoor courts and outdoor large tennis complex, aquatics facility, indoor golf simulators, and a fitness center.
Travis Pointe has hosted the LPGA Volvik Championship, as well as numerous tournaments throughout the years, including the EPSON Tour, the Michigan Amateur Championship, the Women's Western Amateur, the Women's Michigan Open, US Mid-Amateur qualifying, and numerous US Open and US Senior Open qualifiers.
Responsibilities of the Head Tennis/Pickleball Professional at Travis Pointe Country Club include:
  • Teach and lead junior and adult tennis clinics
  • Teach private lessons and help with scheduling of group clinics
  • Assists as needed to prepare facility for member play including but not limited to sweeping and lining clay courts, re-filling water coolers, blowing hard courts and walkways, empty trash, and re-fill cups and towels
  • Reports all complaints and requests to Director of Tennis
  • Attends any staff and club meetings requested by Director of Tennis
  • Maintains a clear line of communication with other club personnel
  • Teams with other tennis professionals to develop training programs
  • Responsible for growing the junior and adult program which includes coaching and watching them play matches
  • Presence at special events and direct events as requested by Director of Tennis
  • Proactively look for ways to improve staff productivity and member enjoyment
  • Promotes and sells all club tennis events and programs to members and guests
  • All facets of team coaching including scheduling, attendance, billing, and lesson plans
  • Work the front Tennis Desk as needed with an understanding of opening & closing procedures, billing, and member satisfaction
  • Run and coach Junior USTA team matches
  • Teach pickleball clinics and help with league facilitation

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • USPTA or PTR Professional certified
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to restring, regrip, and repair rackets

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIORNMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of intense physical exertion including running, lifting and stretching.
  • Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds at times.
