Job description

Club Controller

PrideStaff is seeking an experienced, high-caliber Club Controller to oversee all financial and accounting operations for a premier luxury private club in North Palm Beach.

As a vital member of the executive leadership team, the Controller partners directly with the General Manager and department heads to drive financial stability, direct strategic budgeting, and maintain superior operational standards. In addition to core financial duties, this role oversees the Accounting Office, Membership Administration, and Front Member Services—ensuring immaculate financial records and an exceptional experience for club members.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Operations

  • Oversee all daily, monthly, and year-end accounting operations, ensuring full compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the General Manager and Board of Directors.
  • Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting processes; track performance, conduct variance analysis, and manage cash flow projections.
  • Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, member billing, collections, fixed assets, and vendor management.
  • Coordinate annual external audits and tax filings, ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Operational Analysis & Strategy

  • Analyze departmental costs—including labor, food and beverage, and operational expenses—to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to elevate financial controls and office efficiency.
  • Support capital projects and strategic planning initiatives with accurate forecasting and data-driven insights.

Team Leadership & Administrative Oversight

  • Directly supervise and mentor the Accounting and Administrative staff, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
  • Provide leadership across the Accounting Office, Membership Administration, and Front Member Services to ensure seamless administrative operations and top-tier service.

Qualifications & Requirements

Mandatory Requirement: Candidates must possess prior accounting/financial management experience within a Hospitality, Resort, Golf, Private Club, or Country Club environment.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
  • Certifications: CPA or CMA professional certification preferred.
  • Experience: 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with proven supervisory/management success.
  • Software: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with club management software (specifically Jonas Club Software) is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong financial acumen, deep understanding of payroll/tax regulations, exceptional written and verbal communication, and absolute discretion with confidential information.
