A Counselor In Training (CIT) Director oversees the CIT program at camps or youth organizations, guiding teenagers or young adults as they develop leadership and counseling skills. The CIT Director plans and implements training sessions, provides mentorship, evaluates participants' progress, and ensures a safe, supportive environment. They also coordinate with other camp staff, resolve issues, and help CITs transition into effective future counselors. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ensuring that each CIT receives individualized feedback while managing group dynamics can be demanding, especially during peak camp activities. Building strong communication channels, setting clear expectations, and fostering a supportive environment are key strategies for addressing these challenges.
