What are coulees?

Coulees are deep ravines or valleys, often with steep sides, formed by water erosion or glacial activity. They are most commonly found in the western and northern regions of North America, particularly in areas that experienced significant glacial melt or flooding. Coulees may be dry or contain streams and are notable for their unique geological features. The term 'coulee' is not typically a job title, but rather a landform, so there are no specific job duties associated with being a 'coulee.'
