Job description

Advertised Position Title:
Applicant Pool for Adjunct Faculty, Lab Assistant, Theater
Job Description:
Work in the costume shop for the Owens Center for Fine and Performing Arts on student theatre productions and in maintaining an inventory of costuming and properties.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have knowledge of costume design and construction methods as well as stage makeup application techniques.
  • Candidates are considered for any of the following backgrounds: costume history, textiles, costume construction, makeup application.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple performance assignments as well as preparations for all required performances.

Essential Functions:
  • Will work with students in Technical Theatre on costuming design methodology and sewing/construction as well as stage makeup application methods.

  • Keep an inventory of costuming and properties for student theatre productions.
  • Construction, acquisition, and implementation of costume designs, makeup/hair designs and properties for semesterly student productions.

Other Characteristics:
  • Applicant must be able to work well with faculty and students to create professional level performances and experiences.

Minimum Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 3 years experience working for professional or semi-professional theatres.
