| Aspect | Costume Design | Wardrobe Supervisor |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Fashion or costume design degree, portfolio | Experience in wardrobe management, sometimes fashion background |
| Work Environment | Design studios, film, theater, TV sets | On-set, backstage, costume departments |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Film, TV, theater productions, fashion shows | Film, TV, theater, live performances |
Costume Designers create original costumes based on character needs and director vision, focusing on design and aesthetics. Wardrobe Supervisors manage existing costumes, oversee fittings, and ensure continuity during production.
