Job description

The Ideal Candidate Reporting to the Director of Costing & Business Operations, this position will contribute to Genesco Brands Group footwear costing process, leading seasonal product costing. The Costing Manager will also collect and validate costing from suppliers and collaborate with Product Development to achieve seasonal gross margin targets. Must have an excellent sense of numbers, strong analytical traits, and a working knowledge of Excel is required.

This role will interact directly with key factory partners, and a high level of negotiating skill will be needed, as well as an understanding of geographic and cultural differences. How You Will Make an Impact Collaborate with the design & development team and suppliers to ensure costing timelines are met, quotes are received, and all are accurately reflected in PIM/Jesta. Lead seasonal costing negotiation with suppliers by program with support and direction from Director Costing.

Influence product pricing and provide margin reporting insights to senior leadership to drive smart development decision-making. Set and maintain seasonal margin targets and track against goals to improve profitability for GBG footwear. Execute financial analysis before, during, and after the season to review gross margin successes and improvements needed for future seasons.

Develops new and maintains old reports, with a goal, of gaining more visibility into pricing by category, supplier, construction, and other areas. Learn and master all systems used in product development that flow downstream from costing (PIM, Jesta SnD). Ensure all costs are loaded into the PIM/Jesta system on time, accurately, and fully approved.

Collaborate with the sourcing team to ensure pricing is accurate on purchase orders. Ability to consolidate data from multiple sources and perform basic analysis. Highly analytical and organized with capabilities to multi-task throughout multiple systems.

Effective communicator and great team player with ability to work closely with cross functional areas. Skills and Experience You'll Need to Have 5+ yrs. Cost analysis experience, preferably in an office environment 4-year college degree in Finance/Accounting/Business preferred Prior experience in the footwear industry is strongly preferred Must be competent in the areas of Microsoft applications, especially Microsoft Excel General knowledge of financial and pricing models, and ability to think through and problem-solve critical business issues.
