Starting Pay: $76,000 - $102,500/year
Status: Full-Time | Immediate Hire
Schedule: Open availability required, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
About the Role:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations across two railyard terminals, including Atlanta Inman and Austell. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising mechanics and ensuring the safe, efficient inspection, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of heavy equipment and terminal assets. In addition, will lead a strong maintenance team, manage service requests, coordinate preventative maintenance programs, oversee parts and inventory, support capital improvement initiatives, and ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards. This position requires strong organizational and multitasking skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the overall mechanical operations of both assigned railyard terminals, including safety, administration, productivity, and equipment reliability.
  • Supervise, lead, and evaluate mechanics and provide coaching and development to the maintenance team.
  • Schedule and manage the preventative maintenance program to achieve 100% compliance.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and terminal machinery.
  • Manage maintenance service requests and ensure repairs are completed safely and within established timeframes.
  • Maintain adequate levels of tools, parts, supplies, and equipment necessary to support terminal operations.
  • Coordinate maintenance projects, capital improvements, and equipment make-ready processes.
  • Monitor equipment conditions and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Enforce and uphold all company rules, regulations, policies, and safety procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with terminal leadership to prioritize maintenance needs and support operational goals.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Work across both Atlanta Inman and Austell terminals as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Previous experience in a railroad, railyard, transportation, or heavy equipment environment preferred.
  • Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Open availability based on operational needs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, including on and off railcars.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screening, including background verification, physical, and drug screening.
  • Must meet all applicable Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) requirements for the position..
