Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our finance team. This position offers students hands-on experience in job cost accounting within the construction industry. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced job cost and finance professionals, learn valuable accounting and construction-finance skills, and contribute to the financial success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the job cost accounting process for active projects, helping ensure timely and accurate reporting of job costs
  • Support project managers and finance staff in gathering and organizing job cost data
  • Help monitor job cost data and assist in identifying trends or discrepancies: such as labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs.
  • Assist in preparing job cost reports and basic metrics for internal stakeholders
  • Support the team in preparing data for project bids and proposals
  • Help with routine audits of job cost entries to check for accuracy and compliance
  • Learn and apply best practices in job cost accounting and construction finance
  • Maintain organized, accurate records and files
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a technical school, college, or university program (accounting, finance, construction management, or related field preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Basic familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or Xero) is a plus but not required
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with a variety of audiences
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential

Duration:
  • Typically, May-August
