Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience or 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Previous experience as a Cost Accounting Manager, Senior Cost Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory accounting, and inventory valuation
  • Experience working with ERP/accounting systems and financial data management
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large data sets
  • Experience developing or maintaining standard costs preferred
  • Manufacturing or industrial accounting experience preferred
  • Experience improving accounting processes, controls, or reporting systems preferred

Job Duties
  • Lead the development and maintenance of product and manufacturing cost information
  • Manage month-end cost accounting activities, inventory analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Analyze production costs, variances, trends, and profitability opportunities
  • Maintain costing methodologies and ensure consistent application across operations
  • Partner with supply chain and operations teams to evaluate manufacturing activity and inventory movement
  • Develop reports and analytical tools to measure manufacturing performance and product profitability
  • Review inventory valuation and investigate discrepancies
  • Improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls related to costing and inventory
  • Support annual physical inventory activities and reconciliations
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and analysis
