5+ Years experience in Accounting
Venteon is currently seeking a Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager to fill an opening with an Industry Leader and Employer of Choice with headquarters in the Metro Detroit area. The ideal candidate will be a critical contributor to the company s overall financial success.
Requirements of the Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree with emphasis in accounting required.
  • 5+ years public accounting experience.
  • C.P.A. preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with External Reporting a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, Technical Research and Accounting Standards a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience in audit, financial controls, and accounting functions

Responsibilities of the Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager
  • Provide Accounting guidance guidance for research questions from finance, accounting, and share service teams
  • Compile corporate accounting policies and prepare quarterly summaries of emerging standards for the Audit & Finance Committee.
  • Ensure accounting policies and procedures consistently comply with IFRS
  • Train finance professionals on technical accounting matters and SOX requirements
  • Prepare and manage external regulatory reports in compliance with reporting standards
  • Support monthly financial close, stock exchange filings, and management assessments of balances and transactions
  • Collaborate with business units, auditors, and advisors to ensure accurate financial reporting
