Join Pease Bell as a Healthcare Cost Reporting & Reimbursement Intern in Plantation, Florida

Pease Bell is a mid-sized accounting and advisory firm with national reach. Our team of 175+ delivers tax, audit and assurance, accounting advisory, business consulting, and transaction services to clients across the country. 

About the Role

As a Cost Reporting Intern, you'll work directly with our Healthcare Reimbursement & Cost Reporting team during one of the firm's most active periods of the year. You'll gain valuable, hands-on experience supporting Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting and reimbursement compliance work, and learn how to apply your academic knowledge to real-world scenarios in a fast-paced professional setting.


What You'll Do:

Assist in the preparation of Medicare & Medicaid cost reports and reimbursement compliance schedules 

Organize and analyze financial and statistical data received from healthcare clients 

Conduct basic research on healthcare reimbursement regulations and guidance 

Communicate with team members to resolve open items and gather additional documentation 

Prepare supporting workpapers in accordance with firm standards 

Utilize cost reporting software and internal systems 

Support the team in meeting important filing deadlines and client deliverables 

The experience gained as an intern during "busy season" is the equivalent of a first-year associate

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field 

Progress towards CPA eligibility a plus, but not required 

Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills 

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel 

Availability to work up to 40 hours per week, with the potential for overtime 

Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to a team-oriented environment
