Performs duties associated with operating packaging machines and auxiliary equipment to package reels and coils and ensures the best cosmetic presentation possible.
  • Set-up, load, unload, andoperatepackaging machines to package finished product according to specifications.
  • Complete necessary checklists (pre-shift, End of Shift Cleaning, Changeover) and updates all workstation metrics/line boards
  • Ability to run primary line at line speed safely and with good quality.
  • Ability to be cross-trained and signed off to run additional packaging lines at entry level requirements.
  • Ensures that measurements on reels and coils are accurate as specified.
  • Ability to use workstation computer to enter production, scrap, downtime and maintenance work orders
  • Makes adjustments to machinery for even lay
  • Wrap coils and spools as necessary with plastic wrap.
  • Checks wire for quality cosmetic and color print.
  • Prints and places labels on coils and spools as necessary and may assist with the hand packing of finished products for shipment ensuring the correct use of labels, boxes and pallet patterns.
  • Loads reels into payoff for spooling or coiling.
  • Verifies piece counts.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and observes all company and safety rules.
  • Participate in Lean events as well as housekeeping and safety audits as needed.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
