Position Overview
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Entry-Level Cosmetic Chemist to join our lab team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about cosmetic chemistry and eager to gain real-world experience in a professional lab setting. You will primarily support batching of lab-scale formulations for both liquid and powder cosmetics, with opportunities to grow into more advanced formulation and R&D roles as you develop.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare lab-scale batches of color cosmetics (liquids and powders) following approved formulations
  • Weigh, measure, and mix raw materials accurately using lab equipment (e.g., scales, mixers, mills)
  • Follow written procedures and SOPs precisely for consistent batch results
  • Record batch data, process notes, and any observations or deviations
  • Assist with texture and color adjustments under chemist supervision
  • Clean and maintain lab equipment and workspace per safety and hygiene standards
  • Support the R&D team with sample preparation, testing, and organization
  • Help maintain raw material inventory and lab supplies
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily batching and development goals
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow directions closely
  • Interest or experience in color cosmetics (liquids and powders) is a plus
  • Comfortable working with cosmetic lab equipment and handling raw materials
  • Reliable, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
