Job description

Encorr Sheets, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners and corrugated manufacturing industry leader, is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician at our state of the art facility in Ontario, CA. As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and general maintenance of mechanical systems of plant/production machinery.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION
  • Follow all safety and company policies and procedures including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents or incidents immediately; must complete online safety training each month as assigned.
  • Level and parallel rolls make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.
  • Complete regular inspection of equipment to help identify mechanical/electrical issues or concerns and disassemble, repair, replace bearings, seals, gears, etc. as needed.
  • Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Analyze, trouble-shoot, and repair mechanical problems of plant machinery using precision maintenance techniques. Follow up with work orders to ensure the problem is repaired properly.
  • Perform maintenance function and troubleshoot to correct inefficiencies and prevent equipment downtime by completing regular PM's.
  • Work within specifications and drawings, responsible for ensuring completion, minimizing waste within set dates and times.
  • Ensure the maintenance and preventive maintenance of corrugating plant process equipment to achieve results; ensure all equipment is running properly and meets operational requirement.
  • Work with maintenance crew to carry out maintenance and repair projects in mechanical, fabrication, plumbing, welding functions.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including federal and/or state required environmental systems, OSHA Safety and Health rules, fire and electrical safety codes and manuals, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including Management, employees, and vendors.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Systems, computers in an industrial environment including hardware, software configuration and troubleshooting, network configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read schematics and trouble-shoot various pneumatic, hydraulic systems, PLC's and motors.
  • Strong maintenance, plumbing, electrical background (manufacturing preferred) in AC/DC motor control, troubleshooting, and electrical wiring codes.
  • Must be well organized and keep the working area clean at all times.
  • Attendance must be exemplary at all times. Must be able to work flexible hours and/or extended hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • GED or high school diploma.
  • 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of technical school education and experience.
  • Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience; overall maintenance functions.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years related experience and/or training.
  • Corrugated experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems.
  • Excellent people skills and communication, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic with emphasis on safety.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Constant standing, talking, hearing, and walking.
  • Frequent stooping and bending, twisting, turning, maintaining balance.
  • Occasional kneeling and reaching over the shoulder; also required simple grasping, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration; the noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
