As
Director, Field Sales & Account Management, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Smurfit Westrock Coca-Cola Corrugated Sales organization and working effectively with the operating regions and manufacturing plants to maintain and grow profitable revenue for the corrugated Coca-Cola business. You will be responsible for up to 100 million plus dollars of corrugated sales to Coca-Cola annually.
In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between Coca-Cola and Body Armor operating network stakeholders, and the Smurfit Westrock corrugated group, for all new product introductions related to corrugated packaging. You will be responsible for understanding and managing the profitability of the Coca-Cola product mix in all regions, providing accurate forecasting to the organization, developing annual business growth plans, sharing supplier performance analysis, and ensuring year- over year account progress. In this position, you will be responsible for providing accurate price files, facilitating speedy price quotes and collaborating closely with the area manufacturing teams to understand and sell open machine capacity and value-added capabilities where applicable.
How you will impact Smurfit WestRock - Leadership & Accountability: Report to the VP of Sales and lead the Smurfit Westrock Corrugated Sales Team to consistently deliver against sales targets across all time horizons.
- Customer Alignment & Field Execution: Align all corrugated account activities to Coca-Cola requirements and ensure strong execution across all supported locations.
- Commercial Strategy & Growth: Drive account strategy and Commercial Excellence initiatives to achieve regional volume, revenue, and profit objectives.
- Profitability & Financial Management: Support annual budget development, monitor profitability versus targets, and analyze monthly financial performance.
- Process Improvement & Governance: Identify and lead improvements across pricing, die structures, quality, rebates, QBRs, and contract management.
- IT Enablement & Value-Added Services: Understand and communicate Coca-Cola IT requirements (e.g., EDI) to expand value-added corrugated solutions.
- Market Insight & Long-Term Planning: Assess market dynamics and business drivers to develop strategies that support long-term regional and company objectives.
Additional duties and skills required for the success of the corrugated segment of the Coca-Cola business: - Quoting, Pricing & Forecasting: Secure quotes for new items, manage price file execution, and collaborate cross-regionally to develop a systemwide corrugated forecast.
- Graphics, CAD & Artwork Management: Lead CAD, print card, and graphics requirements; coordinate with plant graphics teams and separators; ensure approved artwork is posted to CCNA and distributed appropriately.
- Documentation & Data Management: Develop and maintain enterprise databases for drawings, print cards, and DMRs; ensure accurate documentation and adherence to timelines.
- Quality, RCCA & Performance Metrics: Manage DMR processing, ensure RCCAs are completed on schedule, and track performance against DPPM targets.
- Plant & New Business Coordination: Coordinate new business with plants based on capability and equipment; ensure strong engagement and coverage across all plant levels.
- Reporting, Reviews & Governance: Ensure timely submission of monthly rebate and shipping reports; review activities with BRMs; schedule, conduct, and present SRMs.
- Cost Savings, Efficiency & Sustainability: Drive cost-savings initiatives, support OCC recycling programs, assist bottling plant efficiency improvements, and standardize dies where feasible.
- Enterprise Support & Continuity Planning: Develop and maintain Business Continuity Plans and support enterprise-wide initiatives across all Coca-Cola business operations.
What you need to succeed: - Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of B2B sales experience in a manufacturing or service environment, including strong sales execution and pipeline management.
- Leadership & Coaching: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and influence teams, driving results through others while adapting coaching approaches as needed.
- Communication & Presentation: Proven capability to develop and deliver engaging, effective presentations for both internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Commercial & Financial Acumen: Strong sales competency with a well-developed understanding of financial and business performance drivers.
