Job description

Position Purpose:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the production floor though supervision, development and training of the production team. Also responsible for the efficient movement of product through the plant with a focus on quality and timeliness.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:
โ€ข Follows and enforces established safety rules, ISO standards policies and procedures at all times
โ€ข Directs supervision of production staff including recruiting, selecting, training and developing associates through coaching and disciplinary actions
โ€ข Uses a Customer Driven approach to achieve KPI targets and engage associates in the improvement process (i.e. production quality, output, processes and efficiencies)
โ€ข Leads work teams focused on continuous improvement in safety, productivity, waste and quality improvement
โ€ข Maintains timekeeping and personnel records for all direct reports
โ€ข Maintains efficient workflows by monitoring processes and variables; implements cost reductions; develops reporting procedures and systems
โ€ข Completes production plan by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising production schedules, resolving problems and reporting results or issues
โ€ข Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; assists in troubleshooting machine issues
โ€ข Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests
โ€ข Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary and personnel requirements
โ€ข Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing associates on the use of all equipment and safety protocols
โ€ข Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications
โ€ข Assists with hands-on operation of machines, including operating and feeding large press machines that requires a full awareness of surroundings, machine pinch points and safety protocols
โ€ข Operate forklift, as needed, in tight spaces with human traffic
โ€ข Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Desired:

โ€ข Working knowledge of all production machines, plant equipment and operations

โ€ข Demonstrates aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers
